The Italo-Argentinian band Del Barrio dedicates a new show to the beauty and poetry of popular music. A concert made up of songs which speak the language of the people and express the feelings, without nationalities’ limits. As they chose Rimini and Italy as their own “neighborhood”, in ten years of activity and four recorded CDs, the ensemble Del Barrio has covered the path of popular music playing tango, South-American folklore and world-music, but it has also engaged in concerts together with symphony orchestras and choirs.Just in occasion of a choral opera like La Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramirez, they started the collaboration with Antonella Ruggiero, a versatile singer, winner of several awards and famous all over the world. For this new show the basis trio, comprising Hilario Baggini, Andrés Langer and Marco Zanotti, has chosen the accordionist Massimo Tagliata, who regularly collaborates with numerous jazz and pop artists and, precisely, Antonella.Popular themes, like Gracias a la Vida, Solo le pido a Dios, Oblivion and even some pieces taken from Italian songbook are assigned to her incredible voice.

The ensemble DEL BARRIO was born in Italy in 2001 from the encounter between two Argentinian musicians: the multi-instrumentalist Hilario Baggini and the pianist Andrés Langer. The project starts from a research of a personal and creative language, which has the aim to widespread the Argentinian folklore, that outside the national border is not well-known yet, and to revisit tango through the modern music’s influences. In 2005 they give up all their engagements to dedicate themselves to this project full time, by recording their first record work entitled “Viaggio in Argentina”, followed by “Argentino soy” in 2008 and “Del Barrio in Compagnia”, that was live recorded in 2010 together with musicians and dancers of top level. From 2007 the interpretation of an original arrangement of the opera La Misa Criolla allows Del Barrio to share the stage with important choral conductors, like Josè Luis Ocejo (Spain) and Larry Vote (US) in prestigious contexts across Europe. The essential team of the band is completed by the drummer-percussionist Marco Zanotti, who is expert of South-America and African rhythms. The show of Del Barrio trio gained important recognitions from the audience and critics on stages across Italy and Europe.  In the concert the original compositions coexist with homages to great composers (Ramirez, Torres and Piazzolla) and they blend styles and genres, passion and technique, accurate arrangements and jazz improvisations.
