Born in Parma, Italy, CLAUDIO PIASTRA has given hundreds of concerts at festivals and international concert seasons around the world. He has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras and conductors, and has been featured artist in numerous television and radio broadcasts. The American Records' Guide awarded him the prestigious "Globe" award for his Schubert album and wrote: "Unquestionably one of the most interesting recordings of Schubert, a must-have CD." Claudio made the first complete double-tracked recording of the 24 Preludes and Fugues for 2 guitars by Castelnuovo Tedesco. It is now in its third pressing by Warner Fonit. Since that time he has released a score of CDs to critical acclaim for: Fonit Cetra, Europa Musica, Koch International, Mondo Musica, Warner Fonit. He is equally active in the area of publishing where he has revised and edited 45 volumes of arrangements and original works for guitar (Carish, Mnemes, Suvini Zerboni, Berbén). A professor at the Achille Peri Music Institute in Reggio Emilia, Italy, he has been invited to hold master classes in Italy, Canada, France, Austria, Brazil, Uruguay, Spain and other countries. In 2011 he was appointed its Artistic Director after he gave the annual guitar master class at the prestigious Tadini Academy of Fine Arts of Lovere, Bergamo in 2010.
GLAUCO BERTAGNIN Born in Padua, where he completed musical studies at the “C.Pollini” Conservatory. He graduated obtaining maximum grade and magna cum laude, under the supervision of Maestro P.Juvarra, From 1978 to 1986 he perfected at the Ginevra Conservatory with Maestro C.Romano, getting a “virtuositeè” degree with a special honor mention. He attended several festivals and competitions, where he got prizes and consideration (Vittorio Veneto, Pescara, Cesena, Città di Castello). Nowadays, he’s very active in chamber music formations of various kind, from duo to string orchestra. Since 1980 he has been first violin solo of “Solisti Veneti”, with whom he took part in concerts for major festivals and in major concert Halls (Salzburg, Edinburgh, Carnegie Hall, Tokyio Bunka Kaikan). With "Solisti Veneti" Mr. Bertagnin has also recorded several albums as well as a soloist (Vivaldi’s Estro Armonico) and he recorded for many radio and television stations around the world. He teaches violin at the Conservatory "A. Vivaldi" of Novara. He plays a Guadagnini violin of 1803.
SILVIA MAZZON performed several concert seasons in Italy and also abroad. As a soloist he won the third and second prize at Iternational Competition in Stresa, the first prize at “Riviera della Versilia” Prize, at “Vittorio Veneto” Review, at 15th Competition of Humanitarian Society in Milan and the third Prize at 28th Biennial Violin Competition in Vittorio Veneto. As a chamber musician, Ms. Mazzon won the first Prize at International Chmber Competitions in Alpeadria, Rovere d’Oro, Luigi Nono and, in a chamber duo with Francesca Vidal, she won the first Prize at International Competition Hyperion and the second Prize at International Competition Rovere d’Oro, Gaetano Zinetti, Rospigliosi and Val Tidone. Very young pupil of Maestri Gilels, Carlini, Semchuk e Vernikov, in 2006 he obtained the second level degree with the maximum scoring. Ms. Mazzon played with great musicians as Segre, Campagnaro, Braconi, Fioravanti and Specchi. She dedicates to the execution of contemporary repertoire, collaborating with composers Pagotto, Lombardi and Ambrosini. She’s a member of “Filarmonici di Roma”, the Orchestra of Maestro Ughi who regularly invites her to play in his Festival as a soloist and first part. She teaches violin at Achille Peri Conservatory in Reggio Emilia and she’s finishing a Master Degree with Maestro Grubert at Conservatorium Van Amsterdam.
ANDREA MAINI was born in Carpi (Modena). He started music studies as chance, and, demonstrating brilliant qualities, he obtained a Viola Degree at Ferrara Conservatoire in 1990, under the direction of Maestro Dallari. Then he refined his technical and expressive competences at prestigious Stauffer Achademy in Cremona. Mr. Maini distinguished himself since first auditions in 1987 and he’s regularly invited for collaboration with the most important Italian theatres. When he was 23 he won a Competition to play in the Toscanini Orchestra in Parma and, at the same time, he started the career of Viola teacher in Parma Conservatoire. He played as First Viola in San Carlo Theatre in Naples from 1999 to 2005, covering after the same role in other Orchestras: Arena di Verona, Verdi di Salerno, Filarmonica Marchigiana, etc. He played as a soloist in the first execution of Ivan Fedele’s Electra at La Scala Theater in Milan; he exhibited in the most important concert halls of the whole world as, for example, the extraordinary tournées with Maestro Lorin Maazel and the Toscanini Symphony Orchestra in Japan or in the appreciated tournée in the U.S.A. with the Italian Chamber Orchestra directed by Salvatore Accardo. He plays a wonderful instrument fabricated in 1958 by Marino Capicchioni on a Tertis model.
MARCO PERINI He is an exceptional musician. He began to study cello at the age of seven, and immediately revealed a sensitivity and a versatility out of the ordinary. His particular talent brought him to distinguish himself in the Italian musical scene. After graduating in Brescia and studying at the Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome with M°Giuseppe Selmi, he has been one of the founders of Orchestra “Arturo Toscanini” in Parma, where he was the first cello player. He performed the same role in many others ensembles: Accademia “I Filarmonici”, “I Virtuosi Italiani”, “I Cameristi Lombardi”, “Ensemble Garbarino”, “Sestetto Italiano” and “I Solisti di Cremona”. All these ensembles are internationally renowned and they always obtained great public and critics approval all over the world. He also played for several Italian and International radios and televisions, producing many recordings for the Parisian Verany, Mediterraneo and Discantica. He has been member of the New Klavertrio for 15 years, with whom he held hundreds of concerts in the most prestigious concert halls all over the world (Salzburg, Saint Petersburg, Moscow, New York, Leipzig, Berlin, Paris, London, Warsaw, Prague). He has been cello teacher at the Musical Institute “A.Peri” in Reggio Emilia and at the Civic Music School of Cremona. He holds proficiency courses at the “Tadini” Academy in Lovere. He is an esteemed teacher, thanks to his capability to relate to his students, to whom he is able to pass on his vital energy and his love for music, together with a solid technical teaching and the ability of showing feelings. He plays a Davide Teckler cello of the XVIII century.
