DUoUD - Lina Uinskyte and Mauro Dilema Duo

DUoUD starts its activity in 2009-2010, by winning international contests: “Città di Padova”, ”Città di Cortemilia”, “Città di Ovada”, “Luigi Nono”, “Anton Garcia Abril” in Spain, the special mention “Saint-Saens” at the “Ibla Grand Prize”. The repertoire developed by DUoUD includes all the musical styles, from the baroque to the contemporary music, from tango to composed jazz with particular attention to discovering new languages.

 

LINA UINSKYTE was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, and was awarded a diploma from the city’s M.K. Ciurlionis Music School. She went on to undertake further studies with Pavel Vernikov at the S. Cecilia International Music Institute in Portogruato; with Vladimir Spivakov, violinist/director of the Moscow Virtuosi, at the “Muraltengut” in Zurich; and, as orchestral soloist, with Paul Roczek at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels. During her studies in Italy she won various awards in contests such as "Gesualdo da Venosa" of Potenza,  "Città di Brindisi", “A.M.A. Calabria”, "Guido Rizzo" of Rome and others.  She completed her Master’s Diploma with Jean-Jacques Kantorow and Gordan Nikolic at the Rotterdam Conservatory, and made her solo debut performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in Brussels in 2001, with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, before embarking on a major series of concerts in Italy and abroad. Recently, Lina Uinskyte has performed in the contemporary music programme at the Teatro La Fenice, Venice, in the Teatro alla Scala’s ‘Milan Music’ festival, and in the Milan Concert Society’s seasons at the Sala Verdi. She collaborates with the record companies “Fugatto”, “Brilliant” and “Elegia”. She teaches at the Conservatory “Luca Marenzio” in Darfo and at the Guido Cantelli Conservatory in Novara. She plays a copy of the “Cannone” by Guarneri del Gesù, created in 1800 by Gabriel Lembock.

 

MAURO DILEMA graduated with top marks and honours at the Music Conservatory in Matera. In 1998 he won a scholarship at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan as accompanist pianist and the following year he was the first placed in the selections for soloists with orchestra and chamber ensembles at the Teatro of Volterra. His concert activity has led him in various Italian venues as well as abroad (Portugal, Spain, France) both as soloist and as member of different chamber formations. He took part in numerous concert events including “Festa della Musica" in Fiesole, "Ravello Festival", "CRAE" Festival in Évora and at the University of Évora and University of Algarve. On various occasions he collaborated with the Italian Cultural Institute in Portugal and in this country he made live recordings for RTP2, the second TV national channel, and Antena 2, a classical radio station. "Diario do Alentejo" stated: «Mauro Dilema revealed himself an interesting talented concert performer in a programme of great responsibility… he showed a high quality, vibrating, extraordinary virtuosity in an original and captivating piano performance».

Mauro Dilema collaborated also with the singer Ricardo Visus in various masterclasses in Extremadura (Spain) and he recorded the CD "Pianoencontrabaixo" with the double bassist Carlos Menezes, released by FNAC Portugal. For the Portuguese Culture Ministry he has recently recorded the music by Roberto Perez for piano.

In addition to the concert activity he was assistant professor at the Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco (Portugal), he taught at the School of Music in Ravenna and Bergamo. Doctorate in Music and Musicology, he currently  plays the role of Executive Director at the “Conservatório Regional do Baixo Alentejo” in Portugal. He is an auxiliary professor of chamber music at the University of Évora (Portugal).
