The secular music program includes important pieces from 1500 to 1900, famous songs of the folk tradition and some of the most memorable musicals of the 20th century. The repertoire also bring together the songs of Italian and European tradition, each performed in their original language. The Polyphonic Vocal Ensemble "Famiglia Sala" was officially founded in December 2006 by the founder Paolo Sala, a chorus artist coming out of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Over the years 2007 and 2008 he performed in many concerts throughout the country including the one held at the Basilica of S. Antonio in Padua, one at the House of Prayer of St. Anthony in Como and the one for  the International Association of Volunteers called "Sumud", held in collaboration with a group of artists of Teatro alla Scala. We also refer to the concert in the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi on the World Day of Peace, in the Basilica of St. Francis in Treviso and at the end the one held at the Citadel of Assisi, for the Christian Pro Civitate, during the “66th International Course of Christian Studies.
The ensemble has performed at the International Festival "Autunno Musicale di Como”, at the Liberty Palace in Milan, at the Basilica of Aquileia, at the inauguration of the restored Reggio Emilia Cathedral and at the Teatro Municipale "R. Valli”, in the same town . Besides, it was a guest in several concert halls, including the one of the cultural Association Carducci Hall in Como, as well as many Italian and Swiss churches. In summer 2008 they recorded a CD of polyphonic music varying over different ages. In May 2009, the ensemble won the silver medal at the National Competition Franchino Gaffurio in the "Sacred Polyphony historic program”. During 2010 the ensemble has participated in important festivals and exhibitions all over Italy, receiving accordant and flattering appreciations everywhere.
Family Sala members have got behind a musical path that ranges from choral conducting, musicology studies, the study of various musical instruments (that in some songs are used to accompany and enrich the polyphonic diagram) to the practice of singing.
